This policy explains how Gibson Plumbing Supplies (“we”, “us”) uses personal information. We are the data controller for the information described here.

Who we are

Gibson Plumbing Supplies, Unit IB03, Elm Court, Capstone Road, Gillingham, ME7 3JQ. Phone 01634 841700, email sales@gps-kent.co.uk.

What we collect

  • When you contact us by phone or email: your name, contact details and whatever you tell us about your order or project.
  • When you buy from us: the details we need to supply your order, take payment and keep accounts.
  • When you buy or message us on eBay or Facebook Marketplace: the details those platforms pass to us to complete the sale, such as your name, delivery address and messages. eBay and Meta (Facebook) also hold that information under their own privacy policies.
  • When you use this website: our host keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to keep the site secure and working. This website has no contact forms and does not use analytics or advertising tracking.

Why we use it

To answer your enquiries, supply products and advice, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, legal obligation, and our legitimate interest in running and securing our business and website.

Who we share it with

Only with those who help us run the business, such as our email provider, website host (Cloudflare), accountants and payment providers, and if a customer asks us to recommend an installer, only the details needed for that introduction, with your agreement. We never sell personal information.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers. Links to Google Maps, eBay and Facebook take you to those companies’ own sites, where their privacy policies apply.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them. Sales and accounting records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
